About SigNetUK

SigNetUK is a comprehensive web resource for information regarding the genetic and molecular biological aspects of hedgehog signalling pathway homologues in the nematode C. elegans. This pathway, present in the fruit fly Drosophila melanogaster, is believed to be present in C. elegans. SigNetUK examines this possibility using bioinformatic techniques of sequence comparisons and alignment.

Data is obtained and included from the Sanger C. elegans Genome Project, current literature and current bioinformatic databases of genomic and protein structure information.

SigNetUK was a post-graduate project carried out by Annette Curtis with the support of Dr Michael Fisher of the University of Liverpool.
